WIPO Will Be The Exclusive Provider Of Dispute Resolution Services for .INFO
NEW YORK, NY – May 3, 2001 – Afilias, the registry selected by ICANN to operate the new .INFO top-level domain (TLD), and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) today announced an agreement whereby WIPO will provide dispute resolution services for .INFO during the Sunrise Period. The Sunrise Period is a 30-day period, prior to the opening of public registration, where trademark and service mark holders will be able to reserve their exact marks in the .INFO domain.
During this session, go behind the scenes with Afilias SVP and CMO Roland LaPlante as he engages in a discussion of key lessons learned from the original New gTLD launch (.INFO) and New gTLD launches since then. Learn how New gTLD owners can apply these valuable lessons learned to their own launches with an eye towards ensuring a smooth and successful launch.
Time will be reserved for Q&A at the conclusion of the session.
Afilias research reveals that Internet experts predict a decline in brands’ use of social media
when brand-owned domains hit the market
New research from registry services provider Afilias reveals that the launch of branded generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) will likely mark the start of a decline in the number of brands using social networks.
Afilias is proud to be a Diamond Sponsor of the 2013 NewDomains.org event, running 28-29 October 2013 in Munich. The timing of the event couldn’t be better since ICANN has now taken a giant step forward in the new gTLD program with the delegation of several new TLDs — two in Russian, one in Chinese and one in Arabic.
After years of discussion and preparation, Afilias is excited to start the process of bringing our two dozen-plus New generic Top-Level Domains to the public. As a first step, Afilias has created a special pre-registration microsite. Here, you can tell us which New gTLDs you’re interested in for yourself or your business.
What is a “pre-registration"?
Afilias uses the term “pre-registration” to mean your expression of interest in registering names in a particular new top-level domain. By checking a box or boxes, you are indicating an interest in eventually registering second level name(s) in that TLD when names actually become available.
